Learn about Port Tampa Bay, Florida's largest and most diversified seaport, with the informative and educational harbor excursion aboard the Bay Spirit II.

Saturday, May 14
Arrive at 8:45 AM / Boat leaves at 9:15

Please try to arrive by 8:45 am on Saturday for the Tour of the Port of Tampa.  You may park in the Channelside parking garage, 810 Channelside Drive, and meet at The Florida Aquarium by 9:00 am sharp outside at the giant manta ray statue where Florida Aquarium staff will escort you to the dock. The address to The Florida Aquarium is 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602. The Florida Aquarium will not be open to the public at that time and no guests will be allowed inside without an escort, there are restroom facilities onboard the boat.

Passengers must be able to cross the gang plank from the wharf to the boat and back on their own or with assistance from another person in their party. Due to changing tide, the gangplank can potentially require up to six steps to board and disembark from the vessel. Wheelchairs can be brought on board the vessel after guests have physically traversed the gang plank.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended also as there is a five to eight minute walk from the dock to the parking garage. The tour will be completed around 10:30 am.
From a wide-ranging cargo mix to its cruise passenger popularity to repair of ships, Port Tampa Bay is truly among the nation's most diverse seaports.

Port Tampa Bay continues to flourish as the No. 1 economic engine in West Central Florida, generating nearly 100,000 jobs and delivering some $15 billion in annual economic impact. Port Tampa Bay is building upon its rock-solid foundation to meet the demands of global trade and the needs of a region of more than 8 million consumers. More than 30 million consumers are within an eight-hour drive. Port Tampa Bay will be recognized as a leader in the maritime industry. Port Tampa Bay will have a customer driven, strategic business focus in working with stakeholders to develop and manage marine terminals and supporting infrastructure for the benefit of the regional economy. The Port Tampa Bay will employ sound financial, business and environmental management practices in fulfilling its mission.

As the Port has continued to diversify, the range of facilities and the number of trading partners has expanded; today, Tampa handles almost every imaginable commodity from any corner of the world. Port Tampa Bay offers expertise in three areas of cargo activity: bulk cargo, containerized cargo, and other general cargo including project cargo, roll on/roll off and breakbulk.

All passengers should be mobile (able to walk with minimal assistance) as the loading ramp is floating and can be steep during low tide. Walkers/wheelchairs/electric mobility devices cannot navigate onto the ramp.

All children under six must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Comfortable clothing/shoes are recommended as there is a bit of a walk to/from the dock.
