Today’s news media is filled with stories about allegations of sexual harassment and abuse against corporate executives, politicians, celebrities, and many others. Victims of harassment have formed the #MeToo movement and are coming forward in large numbers to report their experiences. Sexual harassment in the workplace creates both legal liability and reputational damage for accused harassers and the individuals and companies which fail to take appropriate steps to prevent the harassment.
What is sexual harassment and what are the best strategies to prevent and address sexual harassment in the workplace? Employment lawyer and BAMA member Grant Petersen will present an interactive discussion on how to identify inappropriate conduct in the workplace; implement policies and training to prevent harassment; and conduct effective investigations.
The discussion will also address steps companies may take to assure their workplaces are a safe and comfortable place to work and take appropriate action to resolve complaints and avoid liability.
