About the Presentation:

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) will be hosting a presentation to discuss common state income tax considerations and sales tax opportunities for manufacturers located in Florida. This session will cover

  • State tax nexus requirements.
  • The protections and limitations of Public Law 86-272 as it pertains to state income tax.
  • Documenting exempt sales transactions.
  • Sales tax exemptions for Florida manufacturers.

Attendance at this seminar will provide business owners and participants with the general state tax knowledge to avoid common state tax oversights that could lead to extremely costly penalties and interest related to noncompliance and discuss opportunities to improve cash flow by identifying sales tax exemptions for manufacturers in the state, and general sales tax compliance considerations.

Brian Zingaretti, Senior Associate - State and Local Tax 

Brian is a senior associate within CLA’s state and local tax practice, where he provides guidance related to complex technical issues encountered by businesses and individuals. Brian’s understanding in matters of state tax controversy allows him to assist clients with their state tax planning processes and successfully resolve penalties imposed at the state or local level. 

Prior to joining CLA in 2023, Brian published numerous law journal articles relating to tax matters, negotiated a commercial real estate lease for the Empire State Building, and served a pivotal role in the growth of the federal transaction cost analysis practice at another public accounting firm.

Thomas Santomaggio CPA/JD, Signing Director, State and Local Tax 

Thomas is a Signing Director and the Sunbelt Region Lead in the State and Local Tax (“SALT”) practice, responsible for advising clients on a variety of SALT matters. He has spent significant time working with companies to assist them in understanding how their business is affected by the various state and local taxes, with an emphasis on indirect taxes.  His client base includes the following industries: manufacturing, distribution, technology, retail, healthcare, and hospitality.   

Thomas joined CliftonLarsonAllen in 2018. He has 15 years of public accounting
