BlueSky Innovations is seeking a Quality Inspector with 5 years of experience working inside a Precision Machine Shop/manufacturing environment. The position reports to the Quality Manager to implement and maintain quality standards throughout the organization. The ideal team member has experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving precision machine shop and will be familiar with the measurement tools, drawings, and processes of a quality system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Incoming Inspection-
Review receiving documents, drawings, and product to assure that it meets the requirements of the purchase order.
In-process Inspection –
Assure operators are meeting the quality testing requirements of the product being manufactured.
Instruct operators on the proper use of gauges and fixtures.
Provide assurance of the manufacturing process through random sampling.
First article testing prior to releasing full manufacturing runs.
Final and in-process inspection of tooling, components, and prototype parts using CMM, and various gauges as required.
Assure testing equipment is properly calibrated and scheduled maintenance is tracked.
Participate in MRB process to assure inventory is properly dispositioned.
Maintain vendor records and documentation to assure vendor meets performance requirements and supply chain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements:
Ability to read blueprints/drawings and understand product specifications and requirements.
Ability to perform measurements of precision components to ensure specifications are met.
Ability to perform general shop math, use of quantitative software including excel.
Ability to instruct others in the proper use of measuring devices to achieve close tolerances.
Completion of customer inspection reports per instructions and requirements.
Required Skills and Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Five (5) + years of experience working in a precision machine shop/manufacturing environment operating measuring equipment.
Experience with Zeiss, CMM, and Calypso software a plus.
Experience with Microsoft office products.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English for safety and instructional reasons.
Stand, bend, sit for extended periods of time and lift to 35 lbs.
