The Pinellas Manufacturers Association was formed with a small group of 10 industries in the Tyrone Industrial Park area of St Petersburg in 1961. Later, the organization was renamed the Bay Area Manufacturers Association. In the last 60 years, BAMA has supported manufacturing in our area and promotes economic development in our region.

The Pinellas Manufacturers Association was formed with a small group of 10 industries

1962-1976
Industrial exhibitions were co-sponsored by PMA with the Pinellas County Industry Council.
1976
The name was changed to Pinellas Industries Association.
1978
The By Kravetz Scholarship was established.
1981
PIA was instrumental in the formation of the Florida Manufacturers Association.
1982
The Distinguished Service Award was established.
1984
The Joseph Schiereck Scholarship was established.
1986
PIA changed its name to the Bay Area Manufacturers Association.
1992
BAMA held its first Scholarship Golf Tournament.
1998
BAMA initiated its website.
2017
BAMA hosted the first Made in Tampa Bay Expo
2019
BAMA held it's first Clay Shoot for Veteran's Education
2026
BAMA celebrates it's 65th anniversary!

BAMA awards are presented each year at our annual dinner and Awards Program in June. The five categories are:
The goal of the program is to recognize and celebrate our lifelong supporters, dedicated advocates, and committed contributors while fostering and supporting the next generation of volunteers. By doing so, we aim to build a lasting legacy of industry support and acknowledge the valuable role that every individual plays in strengthening our economic community.
