  October is Manufacturing Month, a time to celebrate and showcase the exciting world of manufacturing to the next generation. Bay Area Manufacturers Association (BAMA) invites local manufacturing companies to participate by hosting student tours at your facility.

  What’s Involved?

  Date and Time: Tours will take place from 10 am to 1 pm during October.

  Student Group: Middle or high school students arriving by bus.

  Activities: Provide an overview of your company’s operations and a guided tour of your facility.

  Lunch: Lunch for the students will be needed.

  Support: BAMA and our community partners will assist in coordinating the tour logistics.

  Hosting a student tour is a fantastic opportunity to engage with future talent, showcase your industry, and contribute to educating the community about modern manufacturing.

  Time: We will coordinate the schedule in allignment with the school schedules. 

  Student Group: Local middle and high school students will join from the classroom. 

  Video Tour: Provide a video tour of your facility students can watch prior to the event.

  Carissa Gudenkauf has 25+ years of experience in technical and production workplaces in roles of engineer, manager, consultant and facilitator. Her leadership development activities of training and coaching help people focus on their personal and professional goals. Knowing the true value of systems and metrics, she helps teams scientifically track their progress and achieve greater results. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and her MBA, both from the University of South Florida.

  She is a certified Process Master, Certified Instructor/Facilitator, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Talent Optimization Sr. Director with MVP Results, an Elite Predictive Index Partner. Carissa earned her Professional Coach Certification through the rigorous IPEC Coaching program.  As a third-party provider for FloridaMakes, Carissa supports the economic engine that is Florida manufacturing and supply chain.

  She is a Life Member of the Society of Women Engineers and a board member of her alma mater’s Engineering Alumni Society. She’s a lifelong learner and enjoys golfing with her husband, Scott.
